The General Healing Process
The Healing Timeline (4-7 Days)
- Day 1: Edema (swelling) is possible and may persist for 2-3 days. The color will appear dark and bold.
- Day 3-4: Light scabbing/flaking will begin. The color will lighten significantly as the top layer peels.
- Week 2: The skin's surface is restored. The color may appear very light or "ghosted" as the new skin is not yet transparent.
- Week 4-6: The pigment fully "blooms" and the final color and result are visible. This is when we can assess the results for the touch-up session.
Important Restrictions
During the entire healing period, you MUST AVOID:
- Picking, peeling, or scratching the scabs/flakes.
- Applying any cosmetics, lipstick, or lip gloss to the healing area.
- Steaming the face, using saunas, or taking long, hot showers.
- Sunbathing, tanning beds, or any intense sun exposure.
- Laser, photoepilation, or chemical peels in the tattoo area.
- Getting detergents, toothpaste, or alcohol-based tonics on the area.
- Using psychotropic drugs or antibiotics unless prescribed by a doctor.
